My COMMUNITY LAPBOOK - Set of 5
Introducing new Enlighten Press lapbooks, the perfect size for little hands!
Being part of our communities is an important part of well-being. In this series, we look at all aspects of our community, from life in the past to a step-by-step guide on how to read a map. Learn practical skills as well as developing an appreciation for our communities and an empowering sense of civic responsibility.
What is a community? How do maps work? Let’s go on a journey visiting some important places on a neighbourhood map.
Mapping My Community looks at community through maps and locations, identifying familiar and significant places and people familiar to young children. These books can also be used as a basis for the development of simple spatial awareness activities like mapping the classroom or playground or a treasure hunt. Building vocabulary will assist in mathematics, geography, and history in later years.
