MY FRIENDS
In this book, we discover friendship by starting with the most important relationship we will ever have - the one with ourselves! By practising self-care and positive self-talk, we develop a sense of wellbeing and better able to be kind and compassionate with others.
We explore friendship scenarios such as inviting others to play, sharing, and waiting for turns, to begin to build our friendship skill repertoire.
Making friends is a life skill with its foundations in the first interactions between parent and child. As they develop, children are encouraged to build the social skills for making friends through their interactions with other children and adults. My Friends explores feelings, social situations and the language children might use as they develop understandings. This book is a great resource at any time to explore the concept of friends, relationships, belonging, and supports the Early Years Learning Framework.
Friendship can take many forms, between family members, across diverse cultures and abilities. This book pictures them all for children to be able to relate to many examples of inclusion.
